First Major Snowstorm of 2009!

It took 12 days for a big snowstorm to come around in 2009. Holly got out of here just in time! We've already received 3 inches of snow in about 4 hours! She couldn't believe that people lived in this weather...typical Texan. Every time we slid a little bit on the road she flipped out. It made me laugh. We did make the switch to my mom's Suburban halfway to the airport. Visibility was really nasty on the way because of the wind. We played 'Where's Waldo-Blizzard Style' on the way to the airport! Tonight we are getting our yearly arctic air temps that generally come these next couple of weeks. Time to put on the tough Minnesota face...literally tough because its so cold!
I just talked to Holly's mom and she might be stuck in Chicago for the night and not because of the weather either! My uncle is a pilot for American so they fly stand-by for practically nothing. She told me that most of the flights leaving Chicago for Dallas/Ft. Worth had about 12 seats on them available, BUT they decided to cancel one flight. Which means about 90 people need flights to DFW and Holly is at the bottom of the totem pole in recieving a seat. Typical stunt for Chicago to pull...
I had a great time with her here. Last night we were in the Cities taking Katie back to college. We had dinner with 2 of my other cousins. We had a great time catching up with one another. I was sad to see her short visit come to an end. I will see her and the rest of the family in 5 1/2 weeks for Heidi's wedding! I can't wait!
