Ok. I think I shall love this. It is a great review for me as well when I get asked questions about client's hair.
It is no secret that winter is coming(or already here!) and with that comes dryness. Dry skin, dry air, dry hair. Is your hair dull and lifeless? Maybe it takes on a life of its own? It is time to add some moisture! Many people run from moisturizing treatments as they feel it will 'weigh their hair down'.
During the winter months I recommend a deep moisturizing treatment once a week. My favorite salon service is the Redken Chemistry Treatments. They can be customized to your needs and are made with Intensive Proteins that concentrate where you need the treatment. These run between $10-$20. For an in-home treatment I recommend Onesta's Super Conditioner. This bottle runs about $20, but should last you awhile. Onesta is one of my new favorite lines. It is from right here in Minnesota and is a GREAT natural, plant-based line. The products smell amazing as well which you wouldn't always expect from an all natural line.
When you are applying a deep conditioner(or everyday conditioner) NEVER put it on your roots. This is why people feel that their hair gets weighed down. Conditioner should only be applied to the 2nd half of your strands.
Curly hair is more dry by nature and could possibly use a deep treatment twice a week. Making sure your hair stays moisturized will also prolong the life of your color!
Psalm 63:1
O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
