Love

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”
C.S. Lewis

  1. So sad to think that people will actually walk like this through life and miss out on the love of the Lord Jesus. I have a friend with an unsaved husband, he is filled with hate and thinks that God hates. He is much like quote I think. Definitely an issue of prayer for many around here. Nothing is impossible with God though, GOD CAN penetrate a rock hard heart!!

Then... makes me think of my own heart. How often am I locked in my own casket? =/

    Thanks for the thought tonight.
